Jarred’s Pole journey started in early 2021. He didn’t have any dancing experience outside of dancing in his living room.

He started Pole Dancing because he wanted a way to stay in shape that was fun, unique and something that he would remember for the rest of his life. He did not think that it would become something that would change his life and goals. He was so nervous when he walked into his first studio. He was worried that as a straight male he would be seen as creepy or unwelcomed in a female driven community such as Pole Dancing. He was shocked at how welcoming everyone was and how they were so happy at the fact that more men were joining.

Jarred used Pole Dancing as a way to drive a wedge between his corporate day job, and his creative potential. Over the years he started developing other skills like photography and filmmaking as a part of documenting his progression. This had not only opened doors to the fitness side of him, but also his creative side as well.

Sadly Pole Dancing had also gotten him out of rough times as well. In late 2022 he went through harsh Chemotherapy, which hospitalised him for over a month. He was unable to do any dancing for 7 months, which stripped him of all the muscles and progression he had developed over the years. This was a low point in his life, which forced him to take a step back and look at what he really wanted in life.
It took him 10 months of training to get back to where he was before treatment. Jarred got the opportunity to perform a solo dance in front of hundreds of people, which was a major milestone for him and a big boost to his confidence. He has now started his very own Photography business where he can meet people from every path of life and create a safe place to express themself.
Jarred is so glad that he has been able to join Pole Haven as a part of our reception team and inhouse photographer and be a part of building our community.
